Last week, the Golden Joystick Awards 2005 voting came to an end and the results were given to the public. Oh joy. GTA: San Andreas crushed the other competitors and came home with 5 out of 19 awards in different categories, including Game of The Year, Best Playstation 2 Game, Hero 2005 and Villain 2005.
Other awards went to Half-Life 2 (PC Game of the Year), Halo 2 (XBOX Game of the Year), Resident Evil 4 (GameCube Game of the Year).
No surprises here I guess, all of these games are very commercial, sold well and were nicely criticized through the year. Nintendo was rewarded with the Publisher of the Year Award, so kudos for them.
