Phoenix Wright Orchestra

Sep 7, 2006 Author: admin | Filed under: Blog, Games, Music

Phoenix WrightI just had to post about this, one of my all favourite games for the Nintendo DS - Phoenix Wright - had his “elevator style” soundtrack released but with a twist, it’s played by an Orchestra!

The cd will be released in Japan (doh!) and will feature ten tracks with all the classic elements you could expect in a orchestral soundtrack.

British Gaming Blog has some of the tracks and they sound fantastic. It’s worth checking out. Phoenix Wright is a fantastic game on its own, a new concept which brings back memories of old point-and-click adventures for PC and I really recommend it for anyone who has a DS.

Nintendo MP3 Player for DS

Aug 29, 2006 Author: admin | Filed under: Blog, Games, Music

It seems like Nintendo has announced a new MP3 player in the works for the Nintendo DS and GBA. Although no release date was mentioned, the MP3 player will use SD cards with capacity up to 2GB and will have a shinny interface which will use the stylus we all love.

It’s great news, I love my DS Lite and I bring it with me everywhere. I’m eager to know more about this device from Nintendo itself, other alternatives don’t inspire me much trust. As an alternative for those who can run homebrew software, there’s also Moonshell which is a very good effort.

Belle and Sebastian Concert

Belle and SebastianBelle and Sebastian played last night at the “Coliseu dos Recreios” in Lisbon, Portugal.

It was a fantastic concert with many songs from their new album - The Life Pursuit - which is in my opinion one of their best, with excellent melodies and great lyrics, taking alot of inspiration from the 70’s.

There was also time for some songs from previous albums, like “The Boy with the Arab Strap” which is also a terrific album. In overall it was a very good night with a great environment and with all their great songs which make you smile in the end.

Too bad it was monday, I’ll have to go to work all sleepy today.

3 concerts not to miss in Portugal this summer

May 23, 2006 Author: admin | Filed under: Blog, Music

This summer promisses to be one of the best in term of concerts. Besides the usual festivals (Super Bock SuperRock, Sudoeste e Paredes de Coura) which will bring names like The Editors, Franz Ferdinand, Deus, Morrissey and many others, there’s also three concerts which i’m looking forward to see in July.

3) Gotan Project
A mixture of Tango, Rnb, dance music and other genres with some great beats of sound, really worth seeing, plus they just released a new album so there’s new musics to ear and dance.

Lunatico

2) Sigur Ros
Symphonic melodies, strange and beautifull sounds a mixture of music with emotions is what you can expect from this concert. I really liked their last album, it’s like nothing you’ve ever heard.

1) Belle and Sebastian
Fresh with a recent new album, Belle and Sebastian come to show their english sounds, excellent melodies and great lyrics vastly inspired from the 70’s. Not to miss.
